Paul Wayne Marchetti Sr 80 of Freeland passed away Sunday February 2nd at Wilkes Barre General Hospital.
Born on November 29, 1944 in Jersey City to the late Joseph & Evelyn (Brislin) Marchetti.
He graduated Freeland High School class of 1962. He was an honorably discharged US Marine Corps veteran with the rank of Sergeant 1965 – 1969. Proudly serving 2 tours in Vietnam his commendations, citations, and decorations include: National Defense service medal, Vietnamese service medal with 1 gold star, Vietnam Campaign medal with V device, Combat Aircrew Insignia with 3 stars, Air Medal with Numeral II & Good Conduct Medal.
He retired as a Journeyman Printer from the former Bemis, Valmont after 37 years retiring in 2006. He was a life member of the VFW post 5010. Member of the American Legion post 473 and the Eckley Social Club.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his wife the former Arlene Patrick 2018. Brother; Joseph Jr & wife Marita Marchetti. Sister; Karen Sarosky & husband Robert “Huffer”.
Surviving are Sisters: Mary Lou Marchetti, LeAnn Kochie & husband Jack. Sons; Paul Marchetti Jr & partner Patty, David Marchetti & wife Andrea, Thomas Marchetti & wife Melissa and daughter Barbara Marchetti. Grandchildren; Jarrod Marchetti, Kayla Malitsky & husband Joe, Casey Creasy & partner Kayla, Zachary Marchetti & wife Daja, Tyler Gregus, Tonya Creasy & partner Jackie, Megan Marchetti & partner Alex, Matthew Marchetti & partner Bella. Great Grandchildren; Carmella, Dominic, Alayna, Hope, Colson, & Lyric. Several nieces & nephews also survive.
Friends may call at the McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland on Friday February 7th from 10 to 11am.
Rev. Michael Kloton will celebrate services at 11am and members of the American Legion Post 473 will accord services.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
