Nelson J. Marencin 89 of Freeland a guest at Mt. City Nursing and Rehabilitation where his passed away Friday June 20.
Born in Sandy Run on August 23, 1935 he was the son of the late George and Mary (Sabo) Marencin.
He was of Lutheran faith.
Before retiring he was an industrial mechanic.
He was an honorably discharged Air Force veteran and a former president of the Freeland Lions Club.
Nelson loved casino trips with his wife, playing the PA lottery, and boating and fishing with his brother in law Jack Gulvas.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was Brothers; Edward and Dan. Sisters; Irene Marencin and Agnes Tancin.
He is the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years the former Matilda Gulvas. Sons; Gary and his wife Lisa and Greg and his wife Michelle. Grandchildren; Brendan, Kyle, and Jordyn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday June 28 11am at McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday June 28 from 10 to 11am.
Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Freeland.
