Joseph L. Palko Jr. 54 of Freeland passed away Friday February 7th at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.

Born in Hazleton he was the son of Joseph L. Palko Sr. and the late Debra (Young) Palko 2016.

He was of Catholic Faith.

Joe was the present Mayor / Councilman of Freeland and the President / Captain of the Freeland Ambulance. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, motorcycles, traveling, listening to the Grateful Dead, and his dogs Moses Ripple and Layla.

He was employed by ADL as a notary, White Haven Center as a direct support staff, and an EMT for APTS, MedStat and the White Haven Ambulance.

Preceding him in death in addition to his mother is Paternal grandparents; Joseph and Mary Palko. Maternal grandparents; Art and Betty Young. Step-sons; Christopher and Joshua. 

Surviving in addition to his father is Wife of 11 years the former Jennifer Preneta. Daughter; Breanna and her Husband Mike Pollack. Brother; Kevin and his fiancée Jackie Dancho. Grandchildren; MJ and Noah. Nephew; Krew. Stepdaughter; Samatha Kostowskie and her son Elliott Purcell. Many cousins also survive.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 13, 11am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish 898 Centre St. Freeland.

Friends may call at the church on Thursday morning 10 to 11am.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Freeland Police Department 526 Fern St. Freeland PA 18224, Freeland Fire Department PO Box 28 Freeland, or to Freeland Ambulance Association PO Box 33 Freeland.
