John W. Peters

John W. Peters 81 formally of Freeland a resident of Allentown passed away January 9, 2025 at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest.
Born in Uniontown on June 4, 1943 he was the son of the late William F. And Delores F. (McClaren) Peters.
He honorably served his country in the United States Navy stationed in San Diego, California. 
John loved spending time with his wife, family, cooking and watching his grandsons play sports. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, Lions, and Redwings.
Before retiring he was the chef and owner of the former Juan Pedros Cantina, Hazleton.  
He was predeceased by his son Joseph Michael Peters.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years the former Janet Moses. Sons;  Dr. John and wife Caroline Peters -Fogelsville; Jared and wife Pamela- Lancaster; Brothers; Bill and wife Debbie- Uniontown and Mike- Hopwood. Grandsons; John III and Matthew Peters- Fogelsville. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 13, 10am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church 898 Centre St. Freeland.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
