George John Yanochko 91 of Freeland a guest at Corrigan House, Hazleton who passed away Friday January 24 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
Born in Freeland he was the son of the late John and Mary (Midlick) Yanochko.
He was an honorably discharged Army Reserve Veteran who loved his family, pets, working as a carpenter, camping, any outdoor activities especially going to the beach.
George loved to work. He was employed by the former Hussovitch clothing factory, Garland Industries, retiring from General Foam. During his retirement he took a position part – time as a security guard for Fairchild semiconductor.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his Wife the former Mary Ann Hatrock. Brother; John 2024 and his dogs Shadow and Sam also preceded him in death.
Surviving are Daughters; Denise Lesko – Hannan and her husband James and Mary Lou Oster and her husband Pete Jr.. Brother; Robert and his wife Donna-Florida and Thomas – of Pennsylvania. Sister; Margaret and her husband Richard Young – Freeland and Mary and her husband Joseph Welsko. Grandchildren; Matthew Lesko, Pete Oster III and wife Shea. Great grandson; Tucker Oster. Great granddaughter on the way. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
George always had a smile on his face touching the hearts of everyone he met always being the first to offer help to anyone in need.
Friends may call on Friday evening from 5 to 6 pm at Bethel Baptist Church 727 Ridge St. Freeland. 6 pm services will be celebrated.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
