Carol L. Marhon 73 of Freeland passed away Tuesday, December 17 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Born in Hazleton she was the daughter of the late Julius and Elizabeth Emma (Peter) Herbener.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Freeland.

Carol was a 1969 graduate of Freeland High School also attended Brandwine Junior College and East Stroudsburg University.

Before retiring she was employed in human resources at the Job Corp, Drums.

 Carol enjoyed being outdoors watching wildlife and gardening, sitting on the sunporch with a good book and spending time with friends and a glass of wine.  

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was Siblings; Ruth (Mitzi) Witchin , Julius A. (Butchie) Herbener, and Edward G. Herbener.

Surviving are spouse Michael A. Marhon whom she married on December 2, 1972. Children Megan L. Makara and her husband Daniel-Drums. Jeremy M. Marhon- Allentown, and Granddaughter; Elizabeth Grace Lloyd also survive.

Services will be celebrated on Saturday 12 noon at McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 to 12 noon.
