A much-loved father and grandfather, Patrick W. Delregno Jr., 80, of Freeland, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hazleton, with members of his family by his side.
Born July 15, 1945, Pat was the son of the late Patrick and Mary (McKinley) Delregno. He was a proud graduate of Foster Township High School, Class of 1964. He then completed a year-long course in Automobile Mechanics through the Hazleton Area High School Vocational-Technical Department, earning a certificate for his achievement.
Patrick was self-employed, opening Pat’s Auto Shop in Freeland in 1975, where he worked as a trustworthy and honest mechanic until his retirement at the age of 79. He loved his work and took great pride in all that he did.
He was a member of Laurel Lodge No. 467, Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania, and also a member of AARP.
He was a man who measured his life not in accomplishments, but in the relationships he built. He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and found great joy in spending time with loved ones and sharing in conversation. He was a man of great integrity, strength, and valued hard work. He was always willing to help others, lend a hand, use his skills to repair or build, or offer advice to those he loved. He will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Pat was preceded in death by his wife of 20 years, Donna M. (Lutz) Delregno, who passed away in 1988, and by his beloved granddaughter, Destinee DelRegno.
He is survived by his son, David Patrick DelRegno (partner, Margaret), and their children, Caitlin and Aiden; his son, Eric Anthony DelRegno (wife, Farrah), and their children, Kimberly and Shane; his son, Daniel William DelRegno (wife, Tina), and their children, Kaden and Dakota, and their late daughter, Destinee; his daughter, Erin Mary DelRegno Evans (husband, Dennis), her stepson, Jacob, and their daughter, Elise; and his daughter, Melissa Ann DelRegno. He is also survived by his granddogs, Winston, Nia, and Sandee.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the McNulty Funeral Home, 494 E. Butler Drive, Freeland. Viewing will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., and family and friends are invited to call until the time of service. Pat will be laid to rest in Saint Anthony Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Brueningsen Memorial Food Pantry, located at St. Michael’s Recreation Center (300 Fern Street, Freeland), or the Freeland YMCA.
