Marie A. Barron 78 formally of Freeland a guest at St. Luke’s Manor, Hazleton where she passed away Friday February 6.

Born in Tamaqua on September 12,1947 she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Assalita) Burns.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Freeland.

Marie loved her granddaughters Emily Shaud, Bethany Shaud Harrison and spending time with her youngest Katie Barron and her catholic faith.

She was employed for 45 years as an Registered Nurse offering her patient’s exceptional care and guided countless young nurses to further their careers while working at local nursing homes retiring from Black Creek Medical Center.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her lifelong love and sole mate Husband; John Sr..

Surviving are her Son; John and his wife Jeanette. Daughter; Denise and her husband Christopher Wolman. Brothers; Donald and his wife Deborah and Michael and his wife Cheryl. Sister; Roseanne and her husband Robert. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 12, 10am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Freeland 898 Centre St. Freeland.

Private burial will follow in St. Casimier’s Cemetery, Freeland.

Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9 to 10am.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org

McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland is in charge of arrangements.
