Jeannette J. Stewart 94 of McAdoo passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 7 at her home surrounded by her family. 

Born on June 11, 1931 in McAdoo she was the daughter of the late Jefferson and Helen (Yatsko) Lentz.

She was a member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, McAdoo.

Before retiring she was employed in the 1940s by Kresgies at the lunch counter. 

she also was a long-distance telephone operator for Bell Telephone Hazleton and employed as a seamstress for the former Deisroth’s and Claddagh/Debs Formalwear and as a greater,  phone operator, and softlines worker for 18 years at Wal Mart, Hazleton. 

Jeannette loved her family and enjoyed sewing.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her Husband; Alvin F. Stewart Jr. – June 12, 2024. Son; Alvin “Fritz”; brother; John Lentz and Sister; Helen Starry. 

Surviving are her Sons; Jefferson-Hazleton and David and his wife Candace -McAdoo; Daughter; Jeannette Knepper and her husband Carlton -Sheppton. Grandchildren; Melody Evancho, Ryan, Bradley Lentz and Dazi. Great grandchildren Christopher and Alyssa Evancho; and Alvin Lentz and several nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call at McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland on Saturday January 10 from 9 to 10am.

Rev. Glenn Limbaugh will officiate.

Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Weatherly.
