Douglas J. Potter 83 of Drums passed away Thursday December 11 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest.

Born in Buffalo NY on September 11, 1942 he was the son of the late Arthur and Luella (Dare) Potter.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Church, Drums.

He was an honorably discharged Staff Sgt. with the United States Air Force serving as a bombing navigation specialist on B-52 bombers Strategic Air Command from 1960 to 1968 at K.I. Sawyer AFB U.P. Michigan, Wright – Patterson AFB Dayton Ohio and Pease AFB New Hampshire.

Before becoming a disabled veteran he was employed by the Xerox corporation from 1968 to 1979 as a technician representative.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was Sister; Jeanette Simmons and Brothers; Arthur, Richard, and Donald Potter.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years married on September 18, 1965 the former Marie Rock. Daughter; Karen and her husband Darin Kline. Son; Jeffrey D. and his wife Patricia. Grandchildren; Andrew Potter, Mason and Emilee Kline. Also surviving are Michael Gowen and his children Aubrey, Taylar, and Aidan. Brother-in-law; Andrew R. Rock and his wife Carolyn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 17, 10am at Good Shepherd Church 87 South Hunter Hwy. Drums.

Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Slovak Cemetery, Hazleton.

McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland is in charge of arrangements.
