Robert A. “Bob” Kislan 92 of Freeland a guest at St. Luke’s Pavillion, Hazleton where he passed away Friday August 22nd.

Born June 8, 1933 in Eckley he was the son of the late Michael and Leonarda (Dubish) Kislan.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Freeland, life member of the VFW Post 5010, Eckley Social and Sports club. A member of American Legion Post 473, Jeddo Stars Athletic Association, and the former Freeland Elks Lodge post 1145.

Bob was a 1951 graduate of Foster Township High School and an honorably discharged Korean Conflict Army veteran while stationed in Germany with the rank of Corporal.

Before retiring he was the Head Custodian at Freeland Elementary School.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his wife Magdalene on December 25, 1999. Infant daughter Mary -November 1960. Brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.

Surviving are Daughters; Donna and her husband Joseph Petrone and JoAnn Laputka. Grandchildren; Scott Petrone, Amanda and her husband Eric Knight, and Steven Laputka. Great granddaughter; Elle Magdalene Knight. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday August 28, 11am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish 898 Centre St. Freeland. 

Friends may call at the church Thursday from 10 to 11am.

Burial will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Freeland.

His family would like to thank Maylath Hospice, Debbie, Gina, Chaplain Angela, and Nurse April.
