Thelma F. Lynn

October 23, 1930 - July 22, 2022

Thelma F. Lynn, 91, formerly of Freeland, now a guest at The Laurels Senior Living Community, Hazleton, passed away Friday, July 22.

Born in Ashland on October 23, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Albion and Lottie (Deach) Kozel.

She was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Freeland.

Before retiring she was a retail cashier for Boscov’s and the former Nocchi’s Pharmacy, Freeland.

Thelma loved spending time with her family, especially going out to dinner. She excelled at gardening, making delicious desserts, feeding her hummingbirds, and just being a good friend and neighbor. She enjoyed creating crafts, playing Bingo, and making new friends among the residents and staff at the Laurels.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband; Anthony Sr., in 2011; sister; Trudy McDermott; Grandson Jason Shulenski; and Son-in-Law John Shulenski.

Surviving are her children Marie Shulenski, Drums; Anthony Jr. and his wife Cherie, Brasher Falls, New York; Joseph Lynn and his wife Michelle, Mechanicsburg; David Lynn and his wife Lee, Palmyra; Colleen Marchetti and her husband, Bill, Freeland; Sister, Sister Constance M. Kozel RSM, Dallas, PA; and Brother, Paul Kozel and his wife Cathy, Doylestown, PA. She is also survived by grandchildren Alana, Amy, Christopher, Eric, and Allison, and one great granddaughter, Addison. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 30th at 11am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish, 898 Centre St., Freeland.

Friends may call at the church Saturday from 10 to 11am.

Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Freeland.
