Richard W. Allen Sr.

July 31, 1937 - January 16, 2023

Richard W. Allen Sr. 85 of White Haven a guest at St. Luke’s Manor, Hazleton where he passed away Tuesday January 17, 2023.
Born in Jeddo#5 he was the son of the late Albert and Alice (Wagner) Allen.
He was a member of St. John’s UCC, Freeland, serving as an elder, 1954 graduate of West Hazleton High School, an 8 year president of the Consistory, and a member of Arbutus Lodge #611.
Before retiring he was the traffic manager of warehouse shipping for the former Kama / Multiplastics, Hazleton.
Rich loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing drums in local bands, his neighborhood animals and being a morse code radio operator.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was Brothers; Walter and Robert and Sisters; Betty Ference, Pearl Tressler, and Shirley Casari.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years the former Dawn L. Steward. Sons; Richard Jr. and his wife Cheri- Sandy Valley, Randall-Hazleton, and Rodney-Eagle Rock. Brothers; Gerald and his wife Polly and William and his wife Karen both of White Haven. Sister; Jean Wilkinson-Weatherly. Grandchildren; Aaron, Alyssa, Kayden, and Gage. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. View Cemetery, West Hazleton.
