Jean A. Smith Lona

July 21, 1930 - December 8, 2015

Jean A. Smith 85 formally of Lake Harmony died Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Born in Hazleton she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Michelon) Lona.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Hazleton.

Before retiring she was involved in the operation of Smith Floral Co. with her Husband of 64 years Robert A. Smith Jr. who now resides at Heritage Hill in Weatherly.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents is her Son; Robert J. Smith and a Sister; Ceil Rubacky.
Jean loved pinochle,sunny afternoons overlooking the lake and her door was always open for entertaining family, friends and neighbors.

Surviving is her Son; Jim and his wife Jane and Daughter; Barbara Franzosa- both of Albrightsville. Brother; Joseph Lona and his wife Pat – Ocean City NJ. Grandchildren; James Jr. and Frank Smith, Gina Franzosa, and Mary Mosty. Nieces; Ann Marie Spishock and Jean Marie Weeks and Nephews; Jody and Tim Lona also survive.

Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday December 16th 11am at the McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland. Rev. Peter Donish will officiate.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11am.

Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
