Jay G. Leichtman

August 11, 1933 - January 25, 2024

Jay G. Leichtman, 90, of Hazleton passed away Thursday January 25^th at St. Luke’s Manor.

Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late Milton and Ruth (Gerhardt) Leichtman.

He was a 1951 graduate of Hazleton High School.

Jay was an avid bowler, sports and Yankees fan.

Before retiring, he was employed at his family business the former Leichtman Ice-Cream Co. Inc., Hazleton.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, the former Kathleen Mulhearn, in2016; infant son; Alan J. Leichtman; Infant daughter; Cynthia Marie Leichtman; daughter; Cheryl Shemanski – July 2016 and sister; Helen Betty Pinkus.

Surviving are sons; Robert and his wife, Ann-Sugarloaf and Jeffrey and his wife, Edie Kelayres. four grandchildren, Kayla and Kristina Shemanski, and Connor and Evangeline Leichtman, and several nieces and nephews.

Private funeral will be held from McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland.

Burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Freeland.
