James R Mulhall passed away on January 9th 2023 at Montgomery Hospital, Maryland.

 

Born in Upper Lehigh at his Grandmother’s house, he was the son of the late James A. Mulhall  and Helen (Hatrock) Mulhall .

 

Jim enjoyed being with people and was an avid Yankees Fan who loved to watch College Football.

 

He was a member of the St Mary’s Byzantine Church  in Freeland, American Legion Post 473 and VFW post 5010 and Life Member of the Jeddo Stars.

 

Jim was a 1958 Graduate of  Foster Township High School and  went on to join the US Army where  he spent 2 years  in Germany 1959-1961 and then was stationed stateside for 1 year  serving at various bases. He then enlisted in the  PA National Guard from 1962 until 2000 serving with the 103rd Armor  Based in Hometown PA  and retired in 2000 where he received many medals and citations  including the Army Commendation Medal , Humanitarian  SVC Medal ,Good Conduct Medal , and many others . He retired from Bemis Corporation 2001 after 35 Years  of Service working in the bagging department along with holding the Position of President of Local 7355 Graphics Printers Union for a few Terms .

 

He was the last surviving member of his family .

 

Preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother Barry  and Sister Marilyn ( Potocheney ) Mulhall and his Wife of 47 years Audrey ( Nemchick ) Mulhall.

 

He is survived  by his two daughters  Karen Evans and husband Shawn Hazleton , and Kerry Spicer and husband Richard of Laurel Maryland along with Two Granddaughters Shanna Glestein of NJ and Shayla  Evans of Hazleton and two Great Grandsons SJ and Brayden, and Niece Shannon Mehalick , nephew James.

 

Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 10:30am in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Freeland.

 

Friends may call at McNulty Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 9 to 10am.

 

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

 

The American Legion Post 473 and the VFW Post 5010 will accord services graveside.

 

Donations can be made to St. Mary’s Byzantine Church 643 Fern St. Freeland PA 18224.
