Francis R. Gortva

March 18, 1939 - March 10, 2021

Francis R. Gortva, 81, of Jeddo went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 9th at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Born in Hazleton he was the son of the late John and Helen (Butchko) Gortva.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church, Freeland.

Before retiring he drove trucks for Pignotti Enterprises.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his wife, the former Mary Reese 2010. Son; Francis Jr and Brother; John Gortva II.

Surviving are Daughter; Melissa Cromer and her husband Kirby- Dillsburg Pa.. Sister; Patricia Draughn and husband Larry- Iowa. Grandchildren; Megan and Ryan Cromer, Taylor Price, Olivia, Samantha, and Cooper Gortva. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church 898 Centre St. Freeland.

Friends may call at the church on Saturday March 20, from 9:15 to 10am. Burial will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Freeland.
