Pap 1 pap2Edward “Pap” Uhrin 82 of Drifton passed away Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.

Born in Drifton on January 24, 1939 he was the son of the late Susan (Uhrin) Bobbey.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church, Barron Acres Hunting Club, and the Drifton Clubby.

Before retiring he was a machine operator for General Foam.

Ed was a beloved devoted Husband, Dad, and Pappy who loved his children and grandchildren. He began racing at 50 years old with his son Ed Jr. as “Double Trouble” at Evergreen Raceway with his car number “50” because of his age also an avid hunter in Eckley and trap shooter.

Preceding him in death in addition to his mother was Brother; Michael.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years the former Nancy Shelley. Son; Ed and his children Josh Uhrin and Amanda Furedi. Daughters; Sueanne and her husband Douglas Begg and their children Dalton Begg, Mikayla and her husband Caz Guzowski, and Nathan Begg. Kristin and her husband Dave and their son David. Sister; Sandra Miller and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral will be held Friday 9am from the McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated 9:30 in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8pm and on Friday morning from 8 to9am.

Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Freeland.
