Edna Pearl Dutz, 101, of Hazleton passed away Wednesday peacefully with her family by her side at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
Born in Freeland, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sarah (Davis) Hoffman.
She was the oldest member of Bethel Baptist Church, Freeland and the co-owner/operator of Hoffman’s Grocery Store.
Edna loved her family and their children, having fun especially on Halloween, and enjoyed to play games including the “The Mop Game” and Pokeno.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her Husband; John Dutz. Brother; Albert Hoffman and Sisters; Rachel Nocchi, Mary Nosal, and Mildred Craig.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her Nieces and Nephews; Bernard Nosal, MaryAnn (Hoffman), Martin Nocchi and his wife Barbara, Sarah Walton and her husband Frank, Robert Nosal, Mildred Yurkovic and her husband James, and Charles Craig and his wife, Patti.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 2nd from 11am to 1pm at Bethel Baptist Church, 725 Ridge St., Freeland. Pastor Mark Whitmer will celebrate her life at 1pm.
Burial will follow in Freeland Cemetery.
