Dolores Helen (Kushner) DellaCroce RN, age 84, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday December 2, with her loving family by her side, after a lengthy illness. Born in Hazleton, Pa. she was a lifetime resident of Freeland, PA. Dolores was a 1952 graduate of Foster Township High School, and Fitzgerald Mercy School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Jospeh’s Hospital and Allentown State Hospital prior to becoming a dedicated wife and amazing Mother caring for her family and home.
Dolores was an active member of the Community, having served as past President of the Liberty Belles Golf Club, the Hazleton Garden Club, and the Hazleton Dental Society Auxiliary. She excelled at cooking and baking for her family and friends, and enjoyed hosting Holiday gatherings.
Dolores is survived by her Husband of 61 years, Dr. Joseph (Doc) M. DellaCroce and their 4 children: Dr. Joseph M. DellaCroce Jr. of Yardley, PA., Catherine (Mark) Kost of Fairfax Station, VA., Robert (Stephanie) DellaCroce of Phoenixville, PA., and Joan DellaCroce of Bear, DE. Together Dolores and Joe had 8 grandchildren; Megan (DellaCroce) Noturno, Kimberly DellaCroce, Angela DellaCroce, Jennifer (Kost) Augliera (David), Laura Kost, Caitlyn Kost, Nicole DellaCroce, and Matthew DellaCroce. She is also survived by her Sister; Sophia Mackus and her children Caroline Holler and David Mackus ( and family) and 2 great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceding in death by her sisters; Catherine and Mary, and brothers; Thomas, John, Charles, William, and Edward, and their Parents; John and Catherine (Bradish) Kushner.
A viewing for Dolores will be held on Thursday December 6th from 6 to 8 pm at the McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland. Her Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 10am in the family parish of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Freeland.
Panihida will be celebrated at 6pm on Thursday.
Dolores’ burial and final resting place will be directly following services at St. Mary’s Byzantine Cemetery, Freeland.
Dolores will be greatly missed.
