Charles R. Curney 70 of Freeland passed away Thursday
January 12, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest.
Born in Hazleton he was the son of the late Robert and
Marion (Yannes) Curney.
He was a member of the former St. Casimir’s Church,
current member of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception
Parish at St. Ann’s Church, Freeland, a 1969 graduate of Freeland High School, received an Associates Degree from LCCC in Culinary Arts, and was a Life member
and former Vice President of the Eckley Social Club.
Before retiring he was employed at All Steel, Hazleton.
Charles loved his family and grandchildren, he enjoyed
hunting, fishing “especially for salmon”, camping,
gardening, riding motorcycles and quads.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was
Grandson; Colton Charles.
Surviving is his wife of 44 years the former Patricia
Gaffney. Daughters; Charleen Mosgo and her
husband Kevin and Janelle Cammisa and her husband David
Son; Robert James.
Sisters; Joann Braskey, Kathleen Vanderpool,
Karen Rinehimer, and Paula Herman. Grandchildren;
Addison, Sophia, Everley, Sebastian, and Greyson. Aunts;
Dorothy Dion and Dolores Curney. Many nieces and nephews
also survive.
Friends may call at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception
Parish at St. Ann’s Church 898 Centre St. Freeland on
Thursday January 20 from 10 to 11am.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am.
Private burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery,
Freeland.
