Barbara Ann (Butler) Everitt, age 59, of Freeland passed away at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville on March 13, 2017 after fighting for her life for 9 days.
Barbara was born on January 7, 1958 in Hazleton, Pa. Barbara grew up in Freeland with parents Lucille and William Butler, sister Gina Vansickle and brother Joseph Butler all whom she loved and adored greatly.
Barbara remained in Freeland with the love of her life and husband of 40 years Herbert J. Everitt. They raised their five children; Kristy, Lindsay, Amanda, Kyle, and Brianna in the same home since 1984 where the interior design and decor changed regularly.
Barbara absolutely loved decorating, sewing, making crafts, shopping and the sunshine.
Barbara was a hard worker and touched many lives along her career especially at Head Start and the White Haven Center where she cared and loved so many. Barbara was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and loved becoming a “nana” to her 7 grandchildren; Kaylee, Ayden, Logan, Lilly, Emma, Abby and Thomas. Barbara loved family get togethers, any chance to spend time with her family meant the world to her.
Barbara and Herbert loved spending time with family at the beach, going to their cabin at the farm and shopping trips to Lancaster.
Barbara had a gift of meeting you once but making you feel immediately welcomed. She had a great sense of humor, amazing smile and a kind giving spirit.
Proceeding her in death is her father William Butler, grandmother Rose Bove, and beloved sister in law Louise Everitt. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and a whole lot of family and friends.
Friends and relatives may call at the McNulty Funeral Home 494 east Butler Dr. Freeland on Friday from 6 to 9pm and Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30pm. Services will be celebrated Saturday 12:30 at the funeral home. Rev. Wayne Kaufman will celebrate services.
