Alice T. Bernosky 84 of Freeland who passed away Thursday morning at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Freeland she was the daughter of the late John T. and Helen (Vroblesky) Herness.
She was a member of the former St. Casimir’s Church, Freeland and a member of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church, Freeland.
Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was a hard worker from dusk to dawn with her family.
Alice enjoyed camping in her motorhome, dogs, fishing, and gardening.
She was employed by Tungsol- Weatherly, IKOV Shirt Factory- Freeland, Henry’s Chicken Factory- Harleigh, and was retired from Columbia Slipper- Hazleton as a trimmer.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents is her Brothers; Aloysius, Edward, Eugene, Leo, Thomas, John, and Anthony. Sister; Helen Coveleski, and her nephew; Thomas Herness Jr.
Surviving is her Husband the love of her life of 63 years John. Daughter- Valerie and her husband Robert McAnnaney- Bloomsburg. Brothers; Alfred Herness and his wife Carmella- McAdoo and Stanley Herness and his partner Pauline Slusser- Freeland. Alice was the proud Nana of Grandsons; Aaron McAnnaney and his partner Jasmyn, Steven McAnnaney and his wife Lindsey- West Milton, and Evan McAnnaney- Bloomsburg. Great grandchildren- Aunalee, Livianna, and Carson McAnnaney and Sister-in-laws; Shirley and Roseanne Herness, Edna Bernosky, and Jean Bernosky- Ashland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday 9:30 am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church 898 Centre St. Freeland.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 8 to 9:30am.
