Alice C. Hindson 92 of Freeland died Thursday March 31 2016 at Celtic Hospice, Wilkes Barre.
A lifelong resident of Freeland, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Pingar) Sotack.
She was a member of the former St. John’s Nepoumence Church, Freeland and a member of Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church.
She enjoyed sewing, creating beautiful clothes and draperies. She was willing to try any project inside or outside the house. She enjoyed bowling and loved to play pinnacle with her siblings and children. She had fond memories of family outings at Hickory Run.
Before retiring she and her husband were the owners of the former Hindson Quality Market, Freeland she also worked in sewing factories in Freeland.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband of 66 years Geroge. Sisters; Mary Mischissin and Helen Kushner. Brothers; George, Tom and Andrew Sotack and granddaughter Lynn Kakalecik.
Surviving are her Sister; Betty Rudewick. Brother; Steve Sotack and his wife Lorraine. Sister-in-Law; Marie Sotack. Son; Bill and his wife Mary Ann- Freeland. Daughters; Jean and her husband Carl Kakalecik- Mt. Top, Georgia Arnold, Sarasota Fla and Beverly Hindson- Royersford. Grandchildren; Matt and Chris Hindson and Clint and Jasmin Kakalecik. Eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral will be held Wednesday 11:30 from the McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland with Mass of Christian Burial 12pm in Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Drums.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30.
