Francis M. “Butchie” Zoshak

Francis M. “Butchie” Zoshak 88 of Freeland passed away Friday September 19th at The Laurel’s, Hazleton.

Born in Eckley on November 4, 1936 he was the son of the late John and Susan (Yanick) Zoshak. 

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish, Freeland and a high school graduate of Foster Twp.

Before retiring he was an electric repairman leader for 28 years at PP&L and employed by F & L Doors for 19 years.

Butchie was a life member of Fearnots Volunteer Fire Company.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was Son; Thomas. Brothers; John, Joseph, Paul “Ziggy”, Robert, Thomas, and Michael. Sisters; Mary, Helen, Margaret, Agnes, and Elsie also preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years the former Mary “Mimi” Adams. Son; Michael and his wife Greta-Drums. Daughter; Debbie and her husband Elton Cheeseman-Freeland. Sister; Theresa Corazza- New Jersey. Grandchildren; Jason Zoshak and his wife Becky, Justin Zoshak and his wife Katie, Dr. Tanya Cheeseman – Fanning and her husband Peter. Great-Grandchildren Mulligan and Phoebe Fanning, and Harper Zoshak. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at Immaculate Conception Parish 898 Centre St. Freeland from 9 to 10am on Thursday September 25.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am.

Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Freeland.

Butchie’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of The Laurel’s and Maylath Hospice nurses Shannon, Virgin, Christina, Theresa, and Aleshia.
