Stanley J. Sosnowski

Stanley J. Sosnowski Jr. age 94 of Oak Ridge passed away February 4, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He was born June 21, 1922 in Freeland, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Bridget Sosnowski and graduated from Lafayette College where he received his Bachelors Degree. Stanley enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge and Oak Ridge Sportsman Association in Oak Ridge and was employed with Union Carbide as an electrical engineer for over 39 years where he retired in 1986.
Mr. Sosnowski was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years Muriel H. Sosnowski. He is survived by his daughter: Suzanne Smolen (Larry) of Nashville, Tennessee and a son: Stanley J. Sosnowski of Knoxville, Tennessee, grandson: Andrew L. Hnilica, granddaughters: Valerie M Smolen and Rachel S. Smolen
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday February 8, 2017 at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home from 5-7pm. A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday February 9, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Burial and prayers will take place February 11, 2017 11:15am in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Freeland Pennsylvania.
