Robert E. Ostroff 81 of Freeland who died Friday afternoon at Wilkes Barre General Hospital.
Born in Freeland he was the son of the late Michael Edward and Dorothy Mae (Fisher) Ostroff.
He was a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Freeland.
Robert was a proud and fond resident of Freeland and was one of the early organizers of the Freeland Little League and was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a past Master of the Arbutus Lodge #611 Free and Accepted Masons, Freeland where he was a member for 46 years.
He graduated MMI in 1953 and was an honorable discharged Army Veteran who served during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Before retiring he was employed by Yamulla Trucking and Excavating, Beryllium as a lab tech, and the White Haven Center.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his Brother; Michael.
Surviving is his Sisters; Carol Mikitka and Dorothy Lazarsky and her husband Jack. Brother; Ronald and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Friends may call at the St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 627 Main St. Freeland on Saturday from 10 to 11am. Services will be celebrated at 11am by Pastor Thomas Cvammen.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland is in charge of all arrangements.
