Nicholas John Hutnyan of Pottsville, Pennsylvania, 59, fell asleep in the Lord at his home after a prolonged illness.
Nicholas was born in Weirton, West Virginia and graduated from St. Clair Area High School, St. Clair, PA. He was married to his beloved wife, Diane, in January 2014.
Nicholas loved the Orthodox faith, church music and singing in his deep base voice. He loved sharing memories of growing up, watching football with Diane and rooting for the Colts all the while teasing his sisters about the Steelers.
He is predeceased by his father Very Reverend Michael Hutnyan (2007), his mother Matushka Mary (1997), his sister Mary Margaret (1994), and his brother Thomas Andrew (Lori) (2019).
Surviving Nicholas are wife Diane (Strenkoski); brother Paul and wife Terry (Warsaw, Virginia); brother V. Rev. Emilian Hutnyan, rector of Saint Andrew Orthodox Church (Maple Heights, Ohio) and wife Matushka Laryssa; sister Daria Teter and husband Kyle (Sinking Spring, PA); sisters Rebecca Hutnyan and Christina Hutnyan (Coatesville, PA); and sister Marina Long and husband Daniel (Coatesville, PA). He is also survived by numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at McNulty Funeral Home in Freeland, PA on January 8, 2022 at 11 a.m. before being interred at Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Greek Catholic Cemetery.
