It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Susan Sisock, age 60, announces her passing after a recent illness, on Friday, June 8th 2018. She was the beloved wife of John W. Sisock. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in August. Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Paul “Ziggy” Zoshak and Theresa (Johnson) Zoshak.
Mary Sue was a graduate of Freeland High School. She attended Hazleton Area Vocational School for Practical Nursing and held many accreditations in her profession of echocardiology technology.
She is survived by her husband, John and her children, Joshua Sisock and his wife Kim of Freeland, Jonathan Sisock and his wife Mandy of Allentown, Sarah Sisock Hammett and her husband Jimmy of Tennessee, siblings Terese (Zoshak) Cudwadie and her husband Michael of Allentown, and her brother Paul Zoshak Jr., of Freeland. Mary Sue loved her grandchild Gage Sisock and was expecting another grandson in August. She had seven nephews, one of which she was the Godmother. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins and friends who she loved spending time with.
She worked for 28 years as an LPN and echocardiology technician at Saint Joseph’s Hospital and later at the Health and Wellness Center in Hazleton.
Mary Sue loved helping others, gardening, crocheting, hosting family and friends at her home, but most recently loved her new role as a “Grammie.”
Friends may call Tuesday night from 6 to 9 p.m. at McNulty’s Funeral Home, 494 E. Butler Drive, in Freeland. A service will be held at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Freeland.
In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund will be established for her grandchildren. Donations in Mary Sue’s memory can be made to any PNC Bank under the name “Mary Susan Sisock” or sent to PNC Bank, 200 W Broad Street, Hazleton, PA 18201.
