Marian De John

December 4, 1937 - October 15, 2021

Marian De John 83 of Freeland passed away Friday evening surrounded by her family at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest.

Born in White Haven she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Grasso) De John.

She was an active member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Freeland.

Marian loved being a part of her church and loved her family dearly. Although she had 5 children there are a lot more who called her “Mom” who love her, and she loved them. She was a kindhearted soul, always brought a smile to those around her.

Marian collected angels and now Heaven has collected our Angel.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband Calvin R. De John 1999.

Surviving are her children Marianne Harkins, Joseph De John, Nicholas De John, Calvin De John and Jo Ann Haviland. Sister; Marlene Digon, 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 1 niece, and 2 nephews also survive.

Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am Tuesday at St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 643 Fern St. Freeland.

For those wishing to say their final goodbyes friends can pay their respect on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland.

Interment will follow at Freeland Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her loving husband.
