Lucille A. Gaffney

June 13, 1941 - March 17, 2023

Lucille A. Gaffney, 81, of Freeland, passed away March 17 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
Born in Freeland, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Veronica (Kostician) Durange.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Freeland.
Before retiring, she had a long career as the office manager for Equipment Distribution Corporation, Hazleton.
Lucille loved spending time with her family, traveling, and working in her garden. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, visiting restaurants, and playing the occasional slot machine. She developed a passion for birding and her mornings were spent drinking a cup of coffee while feeding her winged friends.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her brother Louis.
Surviving are her sons: John in Chicago, IL and Christian and his fiancée Jessica Zisa in Rapid City, SD. Many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends also survive.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish, 898 Centre St., Freeland. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the McNulty Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8pm.
