Lawrence (Larry) H Fairchild, 76 of Lake Agmar passed peacefully on November 15th at The Pavilion at St Luke’s Village, Hazleton.
Born and raised in Freeland, Larry was the son of the late Altheda M (Wenner) Fairchild and Roy B Fairchild.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna M (Swerdon) Fairchild and his children Lisa M Fairchild-Cox (Steve Cox) of London UK, Brian K Fairchild of Weatherly, James L Fairchild (Leticia Pence) of Orlando, FL and Jennifer Baloga (Vincent) of Upper Lehigh. He is also survived by his brother Wayne R Fairchild of Freeland and his sister Phyllis E Mekolichick of Hazleton.
7 Grandchildren; Katrina, Brian, Lindsey, Zaine, Jack, Charlotte and Azariah as well as 2 Great Grandchildren; Hunter and Wade and numerous nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Martha H Fairchild.
Larry graduated from MMI (class of 65) in Freeland and served in the United States Air Force.  Following his service he worked as an auto mechanic before starting his own trucking company which he maintained for over 50 years.  He became involved in local politics serving on the Foster Township planning commission.  When he wasn’t driving truck he enjoyed vacations at the beach or floating in his swimming pool.  He loved his family and one of his greatest joys was being a Grandfather.
Private services to be held.
The family would like to thank the staff at Smith Health Care where he was residing this past year, and more recently St Luke’s Pavilion, for their kind and compassionate care.  They would also like to thank the staff at Rock Steady/Fyzical Therapy & Balance Center  where he participated in the Rock Steady boxing program for those afflicted with Parkinson’s Disease.
