John J. Lapchak 76 of Freeland passed away Wednesday at the Pavilion at St. Luke’s, Hazleton.
Born in Rahway NJ. he was the son of the late John and Ruth (Welliver) Lapchak.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church -Freeland, life member of the VFW Post 5010 and the Jeddo Stars, and an honorably discharged Army Vietnam Veteran.
John was an employee of Allsteel for 28 years.
He loved his family and going for walks all around Freeland. John enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and playing softball for Allsteel.
Preceding him in death in addition to his family is his Stepfather; Leonard Sucila and Grandparents; John and Susan Lapchak.
Surviving is his wife of 51 years the former Mary Soltis. Sons; John- Freeland and Brian and his wife Sandy- Freeland. Daughter; Lisa Lapchak- Jeddo Boro. Sisters; Judy (Sucila) Bonacci- Gap Pa. and Linda (Sucila) Barrage- Paradise Pa. Grandchildren; John 5th, Megan, and Olivia. Aunt; Helen Sachette and several nieces and cousins also survive.
Friends are invited to his Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated Saturday 10am in Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church, 898 Centre St. Freeland.
Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Freeland.
Friends may call at the McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland this evening from 6 to 8pm.
