John C. Maranki, of Freeland, Pa passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the home of his daughter and son in law, Stacey and Eric Sprouls in Woodbury, NJ on January 1st.
Born in Drifton, Pa on June 18, 1929, the son of the late John and Josephine (Marchetti) Maranki, graduated from Hazle Township High School in 1947.
After graduation, John enlisted in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1953.
A lifelong resident of Freeland, John married Genevieve C. Kislan on August 10 1963 in a wedding ceremony shared with Genevieve’s twin sister Regina Kislan and Gerald Gavana.
Prior to retiring in 2006 from Metropolitan Trucking Company as the Director of Safety, Personnel and Insurance held similar positions with LaBar Transportation, Ryder and Tenneco.
Predeceased by his wife Genevieve, and brothers Roy, Leo and Albert.
He is survived by his daughters Renee Maranki of Woodbury, NJ, Ellen (Craig) Benner of Morrisville, NC Stacey (Eric) Sprouls of Woodbury, NJ and Melissa (Joe) Schneider of Perkasie, PA. Brothers; Richard and William of Freeland. Sisters; Loretta Hess- Drifton and Carol Kolbush- McAdoo in addition to many nieces and nephews. Grandchildren Ashley and Meagan Benner, Zakery and Hunter Sprouls and Brady, Wyatt and Kate Schneider.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception at St. Ann’s Church on Saturday, January 6 followed by a 10:00 mass of Christian burial. Immediately following service, entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Drums, PA
