Helen M. Dawson 75 of Freeland who passed away Thursday at her home.

Born in Eckley she loved her roots and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Helen (Petro) Kraynak.

She loved her faith and St. Mary’s Byzantine Church, Freeland where she was a member.

Before retiring she was a cafeteria worker for Freeland and Hazleton High School.

She was a 1964 graduate of St. Ann’s High School and later attended McCann’s School of Business.

Helen enjoyed going to the casino with her brother Abie, reading books, politics, her Friday night movies with BZ and Barb, and her companion Nikki.

Surviving is her Son; Shawn and his wife Maryann- White Haven. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was Infant Brother; Steven. Brother; Thomas and John “Abie”. Sisters; Pauline and Anna.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday 10am at McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Freeland.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8pm.
