Ferdinand "Fred" D. Lonzetta

Ferdinand D. “Fred” Lonzetta 91 of Freeland died Friday at his home.
Born in Hazleton he was the son of the late Fred and Theresa (Delmonico) – Matz Lonzetta.
He was a member of Immaculate conception parish at St. Ann’s church, Freeland and a Life Member of the Freeland Knights of Columbus Council 1040 and the Benedict XV Assembly- Hazleton.
Fred attended Hazleton High School.
Before retiring he was a custodian for the Hazleton Area School District – Freeland Elementary.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents is his Daughter; Leonette Schlauch. Brother; Daniel and Rocco Matz. Sister; Carmella Cherba.
Surviving is his Wife of 59 years the former Elizabeth “Betty” Kislan, Daughters; Linda Pugliese and her husband Ben and Lisa Homanko and her husband Joseph Sr. both of Beaver Meadows. Sister; Dolores Lonzetta- Hazleton. 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 10am at the Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann’s Church 898 Centre St. Freeland.
Friends may call at the church Wednesday morning from 9 to 10am.
Burial will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Freeland.
