Alvin F. Stewart 93 of McAdoo passed away Wednesday June 12 at his home.
Born in Hazleton he was the son of the late Alvin and Margaret (Stiles) Steward.
He was a member of United Church of Christ, McAdoo and Free and Accepted Masons Hazle Azalea Fellowship Lodge #327.
Al was an honorably discharged Army veteran serving with the 101st Airborne with the rank of Staff Seargent.
Before retiring he was a welding foreman for the former Barrett Haentjens, Hazleton.
Al enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, working in his home workshop, painting pictures, and making things for his church.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his Son; Alvin. Brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of 74 years the former Jeannette J. Lentz. Sons; Jefferson and David and his wife Candy. Daughter; Jean Knepper and her husband Carl. Sisters; Ruth Ann Spencer and her husband Elwood and Jean Hopeck. Grandchildren; Ryan and Bradley Lentz and Melody Evancho. Great Grandchildren; Christopher and Alyssa Evancho. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral will be held Saturday 10:30am from the McNulty Funeral Home 494 East Butler Dr. Freeland. Rev. Glen Limbauch will officiate.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Weatherly.
